Tempo Map -editing -question
Hi all,
Wanted to see if anyone here might have some editing advice. I have a track that was not cut to a click, but needs some overall tightening. I used Beat Detective to create a tempo map, and also separated the regions (w/ 1/8th note resolution) on all the tracks. This way, with all track in "tick" mode; I can quickly "audition" the track being quantized 100% by simply highlighting/ and then deleting the tempo map in the tempo ruler. On this particular track, 100% doesn't sound good. If I go through the tempo map, and manually tighten the tempo by nudgeing the break points; it starts sounding tighter, but w/o losing the feel (the slightest bit of swing/swagger). Only problem is, this takes FOREVER, and my wrists starts hurting. Here's what I think would sound good, and be fast and easy; If I could highlight the entire tempo map, and then tell it to tighten by a certain percentage, I could find the right balance. This would be similar to the "conform strength" in Beat Detective. I'm been messing w/ the "Tempo Operations Window" to see if there's a way to do this. Unfortunately, there isn't much info on how these functions work in the manual. Has anyone here had success doing this? thanks in advance, Ken Sluiter |
