Default RIP Glen Campbell

What an amazing player he was - I'm not so much into country music, but he also played with the Wrecking Crew among others on some great classic tunes! Sad day.

Didn't he tour with the Beach Boys when Brian Wilson couldn't/wouldn't tour?

He took over when Brian left the road, at least for a while. Extremely talented man by any measure. Had the pleasure to meet him and watch him do an intimate performance a few years back before he fell deep into dementia. A sad end to an amazing career. The Witchita lineman...still on the line

Can't stand country music myself, nevertheless have great respect for his lifetime achievements.

One thing he has done for me though, is remind me of my long passed mother who absolutely loved Glen Campbell. So his music is seared into my mind even though he wasn't my cup of tea.

RIP dude!

He had a voice and style you would never confuse with anyone else and that's good. I tend to think of him as not a pure country artist but more of a crossover - he reached a crowd that would never listen to Loretta Lynn or Conway Twitty.

Sadly too many people were unaware he was a guitar virtuoso!

Without a doubt the most talented musician ever in country music, second of course is Vince Gill!
