Default Error -36 when copying pro tools sessions from DVD

I dont know what is causing this. But when one of my clients mails me his pro tools sessions on DVD's, I transfer the sessions to my iMac Intel core 2 duo computer and they start to transfer but won't complete because it says something about some of the audio files cannot be copied because they wont read and gives an error -36. But when I take those same DVD's and try to transfer them on my iMac G5, some of the songs transfer properly and some dont. Anyone know what the problem is or what I cam do to fix this?

Sounds like a bad DVD. Probably the only thing you can do is have them make another one for you and possibly try burning it at a slower speed.

Yeah, that's a disk i/o error from the DVD.

One thing you can try - and it might not work - is to note which files give you the error message and then try copying them one-at-a-time. Sometimes that will work.

Yea I was wondering if it was the dvds causing the problem, but its not just one dvd causing it, its several dvds that are not working right. You think maybe that particular brand of dvds may not be good? They are HP dvdr's. How do I lower the speed of the dvd transferring to the hard drive? Anything else I can try?
