Default white noise blowing out my ears

Anyone else having this problem with PT 9.0.6 on an mbox pro 3?

Every 5-10 minutes as I'm editing/recording the audio playback is interrupted by a nasty loud white noise. It actually hurts my ears.

I've been working in this version of PT for many months without any software updates, but suddenly this problem has arrived. Searched the forum but didn't find any Mac / mbox answers.

Restarting doesn't solve the problem. Any ideas? My ears hurt.

Another thought. You didn't happen to download a demo plugin did you? Sometimes they emit noises, so you can't use them fully.

After a goosechase blaming Apple Migration Assistant, it turns out CSR had to be re-authorized and it was making a concerted effort to damage my hearing. lol.

Any other digital devices connected? ADAT? Monitors or outboard via S/PDIF? How are you clocking the MBox Pro? Sounds like a little clock drift. The white noise injected by trial plugs shouldn't be full on.
