Error when trying to open ProTools 10 Express. Help?

Hello. I hope this is the appropriate place and manner of asking this question. I've been doing searches on this topic for days and while I've found mentiones of this error, I haven't found a soution that works yet.

I receive an error when I try to open ProTools 10 Express. It's the most recent version, freshly downloaded, and my iLok is registered and inserted. I first receive a message about my iLok being not inserted (though it is), then, if I install any drivers, I get the following. (trimmed to what I beleive are the relevant parts- I can post the entire error message)

(Pro Tools Cannot be opened because of a problem etc...)

Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/CFnd.framework/Versions/A/CFnd
Referenced from: /Applications/Avid/Pro Tools/Pro Tools Express.app/Contents/MacOS/Pro Tools Express
Reason: Incompatible library version: Pro Tools Express requires version 10.3.4 or later, but CFnd provides version 9.0.0

Please note I am very very new to DAW recording (used to multi-track hard disk machines) and also to Macs so I am very much a babe in the woods with regard to all this.

The first thing I have to ask is what host are you trying to run it on? Hardware, OS version, RAM, etc....

Oops, I was sure I'd posted that.

Mac Book Pro with OS 10.6.8
8 GB RAM

Did you upgrade to 10.6.8 with the combo updater? If not that would be the first thing I would do.

It seems as though there may be some incompatible libraries installed on your Macbook.

I've done the regular "software update", but I don't know if the link you posted is additional content, so I will try that first. Thanks for your help!

The software update has (in the past) caused problems with some PT versions. So up to now I've always used the combo updater.
