Drum dilema...purchase

Hey guys,

Thought I would drop in here and see if I could get some ideas. I'm in the midths of deciding between simply replacing a few worn out pieces of an old 'entry' level kit or investing in a new kit entirely.

The old kit has a unique sound that suits the folk style that we play. During rehearsal last week my throw on my snare exploded I've been thinking, well I can just replace my snare and my broken Hi Hat stand....or I can buy the kit I've always wanted.

Thoughts?

Budget is max $2500 Canadian

22x18 kick
14x5.5 snare (wood)
16x14 floor tom
Rack tom optional (don't use one...but would be nice to have in the studio)

Right now I'm looking and leaning towards DW performance series with a 3000 series HH stand, anyone with experience in the studio with this kit ?

Or if anyone has a Collectors series shell pack sitting around they'd like to sell :P
