MIDI Studio Setup Instrument Definitions

Good day,
I've just recently upgraded to PTLE 7 on an MBox 2 Factory Bundle. Before, I was running 6.1 with an AMIII card.

I notice that v7 has the option of importing instrument definitions and creating a 'patch map' for easy selection of sounds. Since I haven't gotten around to printing out the manual....700+ pages!!!!!...I haven't looked through that for the answers I need.

What I'd like to know, since my Korg is not listed in the list of available files, is there a way to create my own patch map, and if so, could anyone tell me if this is listed somewhere in the manual. If not, could you tell me HOW to create it?

Your midnam file may already be available for download at:

DigiCake (free)

Skylight (not free, but you get a ton of others with it).

If you find one there for your unit, you will also need a middev file. I've created an online middev creator on my website that several people have had success with.

If you don't find a midnam file for your particular hardware, you will have to create one following the Digidesign Tech-Tips.
