muting monitor output when recording
Is there any way you can set up pro tools to automatically mute just the monitor output and not the headphones when recording? The situation I am in is that when recording drums in the same room, I have to turn the volume down on the mbox everytime I record so i dont pick up the speakers on the mics, and then I have to turn it up again to hear the drum take on the monitors. any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
btw: I have mbox 2 on windows xp running pro tools le 7.3 |

Re: muting monitor output when recording
this is why you need a control room monitoring piece like central station or big knob. that and the whole noise burst thing. Its never good to hook your speakers directly to the main outputs (unless the gear has a built-in monitor section. With a piece like that you just hit mute for the speakers and your headphones are unaffected.
