Default Leopard Compatibility for Pro Tools HD

Pardon the post, but it's not clear from Digi's postings on this matter. Will Pro Tools software (not LE) ever be compatible with Leopard systems on earlier machines than the Quad Mac Pro's? Specifically, I have one of the first gen Mac Pros and I am wondering whether there are any plans to make PT run on these machines under Leopard or whether Digi is only looking at current Macs and Mac going forward for Leopard compatibility.

I'm also curious about all the G5 HD rigs on the planet, (Like mine, and hundreds of others in Nashville) - are we done with PPC / UB support already - definitely ONLY supporting Intel from this day forward?

Hopefully Digi will see this, and can comment - so I can prioritize my upgrades at the studio.

It's Likely PPC and early Intel systems will become supported.
My (unofficial) test system is a G5 dual 2.7 running OS 10.5.2, PT's 7.4.1 Waves 5.9.7
NI komplete5, MCDSP G & FB, Eventide and others.
Only a few graphic issues but mostly quite stable.
My sessions run 44.1 24 bit BWF 50-80 track of audio.
This is not a recommended system and I only mention this as to the likeliness Digi is working on it.

a reassurance from Digi would be timely and kind and...."just so you know"....supportive.

Hmmm TCDet... You running Accel Cards w/ that setup u mentioned 2 posts ago ??

Also, this confirms that the 7.4.1 installer "IS FOR FACT?" a UB installer, and not Intel only ?

I may try a Leopard, PT 7.4.1 install on a separate drive (Keeping the main, internal drive, Tiger + PT 7.4) so that I can "Build the leopard System, as plugins, and Pro-Tools become supported, when stable enough... eventually overwrite my internal drive, with an Image of that Leo System Drive.

I suspect it'll be fairly Stable, I'm running PT LE on an 002 in Leopard, which crashes every 2nd or third BTD - so... i just don't bounce on that system - and it runs, solid, for hours.

Your post is good information, and it's good to know that 7.4.1 is universal, there'd be no reason for it to be, unless Digi, was planning on Supporting PPC a little while longer.

Note: My above system is a test, I run 10.4.10 PT's 7.4cs4 for sessions.
HD3 Accel.

So far I've encouuntered a Instrument track (Kore2 RTAS) issue when TDM plugs on that track are Option-Click (drag) copied to audio tracks.
Also note: I am not a tester just a user testing this. When the official release happens I will test some more then roll out to other systems.

This just helps me get use to Leopard and it's own changes and oddities.

We will definitely be testing G5 and Mac Pros prior to the currently available versions.
