perpetual license, but can no longer open sessions

my support ran out the other day, and now my perpetual license PT no longer opens sessions. PT keeps hanging.

must i really pay $400 to open a support ticket on a product that only works when i'm paid up for support?

that's why i got the perpetual license; but i guess it acts like a subscription.
