Default SPL Transient Designer on Venue?

I see the TDM version of this plug-in was recently released. Has anyone tried the demo on Venue yet? The hardware TD is killer so I have high hopes for the plug-in version!

I played with it a bunch this morning, and I think it's pretty cool. I used it liberally across the drums and also tried it during virtual soundcheck on a bunch of stuff like some keys and guitars. Worked great on the drums; it's practically cheating. It also helped bring out the attack on a piano patch. It didn't do anything for me on the particular guitar amp I had today so it didn't stay, but I left it on the drums and keys. There are a lot of flavors you can get with it, but I think it's probably easy to overdo it.

Hi Dave,

Did you by chance demo the twin tube as well?

Thanks,
Nicolas

I did not. I've been waiting for a TDM version of a true transient designer plugin since before the Venue came out. I'm going to play with the demo a bit more this week, but this will probably end up on our console due to ease of use--a huge plus for house of worship volunteers--and the results produced.

I have tried loading Transient Designer manually, and in the Options/Plug-In tab I can see it has been installed, but when I try to add it to my plug-in rack, I cannot see it anywhere to instantiate it. I posted on a different thread, but didn't really get any leads that would get me where I need to be.

Any tips would be helpful. I'm stumped.

Same thing happened to me. You need to update the PACE iLok driver for the console and then everything will be happy. Go here, download the Win32 driver, copy to the Windows desktop on your Venue, install, and then reboot the console.

It's very easy to do the update and once you do, the plug-in will be available for use. Thanks to Geb, I think, who originally posted these instructions/link related to another plug-in a few years ago. I found his notes on a forum search last week.
