Default Firewire card v buss?

Hi all,

If I buy a PCI-e Firewire card that has 3 firewire ports - does that mean also '3 busses' or not?

Basically I'm asking is there a difference between:

• HD and Mbox2 Pro daisy chained

and

• HD in one port on card and Mbox2 Pro on the other port on the same card.

Do you need TWO separate cards to have separate busses or is a 3 port card 3 separate busses?

Thanks for any advice.
