Default External clocking and a/d conversion with Digi 003rack

Hey. Since my last posts I've changed my setup fairly dramatically. I've gotten rid of the behringer 8 adat in to 003 and recently purchased a focusrite Isa one analog that I route line in. Also recently purchased a BLA mk1 sparrow external word clock that I've connected via DNC cable, I believe it's called. questions. 1. I don't record more than one track at a time normally. So with external clocking will there be a noticeable difference in purchasing the adc card to make Isa one the converter? Thanks for response in advance....

I wondered the same myself as I ran an ISA-428 with the digital card into my 003 via lightpipe. Later on, I moved the ISA preamps to analog inputs(5 thru 8) and really could not hear enough difference to care

Thank you very much! That saves me a lot of money for the time being. Do you have any experience with BLA mk word clock series? Would it be worth selling my mk1 and purchasing an mkll or mklll? Thanks so much for the response!

Tough to say as I never used either box. I did use a Lucid GenX 192 clock on my 003 rig and did not notice a significant improvement. For me, the biggest sound improvement happened when I dumped the 003 and moved to HD Native with HD IO's
