Default Trim and scroll wheel

Is it possible to trim without scrubbing? What I do now is to press the trim button, then press scrub (or Option+scrub), scroll away, and then press trim again. I hardly ever need to scrub to find start/end, and I'd like to skip that step.

Thanks.

Isn't this what the SoftKey "Trim To Selection" is for ?
EDIT/Func 2/Trim To Sel

I'm using the MarkIn and MarkOut keys in combination with the jog wheel. Once I "see" that the selection "looks" fine, I press the SoftKey "TrimToSelection" and as a result only the previous selection of the AudioRegion remains.

Sure, it is. I just hoped that there might be another way to do it, and keep the soft keys available for other functions. I'll try to make a new user setup in the soft keys, and include "Trim to sel" there.

Thanks.

I'll compile a set of tasks, and see how I get on with it. I always appreciate to hear how others use the console and PT, so all thoughts are welcome.
