Pro Tools 11 : Choice of language ?

I use PT 10.3.2 with the launcher "Pro Tools-EN OSX-FR" (I prefer PT in English).

Is the choice of the language available in PT 11?

If not, the launcher "Pro Tools-EN OSX-FR" still working with PT11 ?

Not on Mac it isn't.

I changed the script you mentioned so it does work with 11:

Is it easy to modify the script ?

Have you tried using it?
I think it will make sure PT opens in english no matter which language your OS is in. I might be wrong, though.
Would you give it a shot and report back?

It seems many people have problems with PT 11.
I prefer to wait before upgrading.
I will check your script and I will tell you.

There have been talks that Avid might consider a user selectable language, but it's just unofficial hearsay at the moment.

Windows people have the choice, because Windows installations are different. Mac people have to follow the OS language selection for the time being.

I myself hope and expect that this thing will change sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, you will just have to run English as the OS language if you want PT to behave well.

How do you figure?
I'm running PT in english alongside a german OSX using the script for years now with PT10 and PT11. It works absolutely flawlessly.

Good for you if your scripts work, but I myself love supported systems. I'm hoping Avid does what it should do, and put the PT language a user preference.

Hi,

Jihel, modifying the script is quite easy.

I modified mine with Apple Script Editor (in Applications/Utilities folder). It just temporarily change OS localization to English, launch Pro Tools and rechange localization back to French.

- make a copy of the original script application "Pro Tools 10-EN OSX-FR" and rename it "Pro Tools 11-EN OSX-FR"
- launch Applescript Utilities and open your "Pro Tools 11-EN OSX-FR.app"
- on line 2, change the Pro Tools path access (because it is different between PT10 and PT11)
