Playback at double speed in PT 10.03.10
Hi all,
I use PT to edit podcasts and it would really save a lot of time if I could playback on double speed, to be able to select faster what it is I want to keep. Any thoughts on how to do that? Your help is much appreciated! |

Re: Playback at double speed in PT 10.03.10
Hi The Weeds,
Thanks for your reference to the shortcut-pdf. The weird thing is that I can use half-speed playback by typing Shift+Spacebar, but the numeric shortcuts 1 X Forward 6 1 X Rewind 4 4 X Forward 9 don't work. Could I have some basic settings wrong maybe? |

IIRC, those are for HD.
On my Windows PT12 Vanilla rig, the shortcuts are Start+1 through 9 on the Number Keypad. Can't Find those in the Shortcut PDF.

Re: Playback at double speed in PT 10 or 11
I own two systems. An older HD 24 Mix Plus has the capability to run 5 speeds slower and 5 speeds faster by using the control key and numerical keypad. The MAC computer is NOT a MacBook or a laptop. I also have a sync box connected to the system to run with video. Not everyone has the money or the need for these advantages. This is a well known feature to those users owning this system.
However, I also do additional work on a new MacBook Pro running PT 10 for audiobook projects which often require double speed playback for quality control (QC) for checking accuracy on content. My work around is to consolidate the file(s) or section(s) or region(s) that you need via the consolidation quick key (also in drop down menu) and put them in a folder or sub-folder in the pT session audio file folder or a totally separate folder on you desktop. Here is my solution: Open Quicktime 7 and open the audio file using that application. Quicktime has the ability to play back a 2x and I believe 3x and 4x. There is a limitation on all PT versions using a MacBook and MacBook Pro due to the architecture of the program using the processors in the laptops for priority issues and stabilization of sync. |
