Picture audio not automatically adding to timeline

This is a fairly new problem I'm experiencing - Whenever I drag a video file (with accompanying audio) onto the timeline, the video drops in absolutely fine, but the accompanying picture audio just goes straight into the Clips bin, from where I have to then manually drag the audio file onto a new track in the timeline.

The audio always used to just automatically add itself to a new track on the timeline, together with the video..

Any thoughts/advice?

I'm not really sure, but do you have an active search in the clip list?
If so, clear the search so that all clips are displayed in the clip list, and try importing the video file again.

this is a known issue described in this thread.
i filed a bug report with Avid. if you have support entitlement, i suggest you do the same. the more users who report the bug, the faster it may be addressed (maybe?).
