Default How is Pro Tools 2018 behaving?

How is this working for everyone? I'm pretty much forced to update my macbook pro from Yosemite 10.10.5 to high sierra now.

Is the latest version of 2018 playing nice with high sierra? I've literally been plagued with lagging graphics since right after yosemite which is why I've stayed there.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB RAM
1 TB internal SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

For me, on two Macs, 2018-3 was close to acceptable, but 2018-4 is close to a nightmare, and it was a fix version ! PT is the best bug to price ratio nowadays.

This is disheartening. To any moderators listening, is there any kind of grace period where if the software doesn't work, a user can be refunded? Before anyone laughs (I know, I get it..), Avid is protmoting a product that is claimed to be the best and industry standard, but if there are bugs that are present since version 12 and haven't gone away and the program doesn't work as advertised, how can one really be expected to invest with absolutely zero guarantee? Avid literally has nothing to lose because they essentially own our iloks. We give the ok on a refund? The yank the license. It seems simple, then again, I'm not in the business.

Buy a 1 month subscription is all I can think of as a trial (before buying a full license)

No problems here, btw

2018-4 is working great for me on Sierra on my Trashcan.

I’m not having any issues at all with Protools Ultimate 2018.4, and I’m on High Sierra 10.13.4 which is supposed to be an issue.

This works fine for me, if I don't use my Avid HD hardware.. If I do I get massive CPU spikes, and forced to use a six month old version, on my qualified machine.

I've spent maybe 60 hours investigating this issue, and Avid CS replicated my issue on their qualifying machine!!!!!!

If this issue doesn't get sorted in the next release, I'm planning an open letter to Avid, to explain my problems with them, as a 20 year customer, to point out where they are failing.

2018.4 was initially a bit buggy, but after running the PT Prefs Helper to clear everything, it is noticeably smoother.

I'm running Sierra (not High Sierra) btw.
