Default Bass guitar chain and vocal chain??

Just wondering what peoples go to chains are for both bass and vocals.

For vocals do you compress on the way in? if so what comp and how much. Same for bass what are people doing there on the way in, compressing? If so with what and how much

My vocal chain is normally
AC1
H-EQ (Subtractive)
C4
SSL E Channel (Colour)
LA2A
1176
API (Colour)

The last 3 are used in some sort of combination. Might be all 3, might just be 1 of them.

My bass chain is
AC1
H-EQ (subtractive)
1176
SSL E Channel (colour)
API (colour)

And I will sometimes blend a duplicated bass track in with decapitator on and less bottom end and more mids

So what are you guys doing for these tracks

I just got the Reinassance Maxx so I'll be using that everywhere for a month or until I get something else. The last vocal I mixed was F6, PuigTec, CLA2A, sometimes CLA76 after, Trans-X and NLS

I'm through the Waves phase

Don't know what AC1 is My usual vocal chain:
mic(Miktek C7 or CV4 usually)
Preamp(API 312 clone)
Compressor(Warm Audio Wa2A)
plugin chain:
Melodyne(if needed)
EQ III 7 band(highpass around 125)
BF76(touching peaks)
SMACK!(more compression with character)
Waves Puigtech EQ
on a tough track, I might stick Waves Vocal Rider up top and maybe add a de-ess before the pultec.

Sometimes the entire chain gets swapped for Slate VMS(try to pick the best chain for the voice in question)

Bass-DI>Vintech 573>Retro Doublewide
plugin chain:
EQ III 7 band(low shelf cut and a bump around 900)
Waves Bass Rider(if player is not consistent)
BF76
Waves JJP Bass plugin
AUX send to AUX track with Amplitube SVX(usually B-15 with tweaks)
I track the bass without JJP(too much latency) and when mixing, the amp sim gets a stompbox distortion pedal(sounds bad while tracking, sounds awesome in a mix).

Vocal - Miktek CV4 > Portico 5012 > McDSP FB > McDSP AE400 > Softube FET

Bass - UA 6176 > Softube Tube-Tech Classic Channel > bx_opto (maybe)

@Albee AC1 is McDSP plugins :)

I see you guys have shown your chain from the mic so I’ll add that to

Warm Audio U87
Liquid Channel (neve 1073 and la2a settings normally comping 4db on loudest parts)

Then into ProTools, with my plugin gain

How much gain reduction are you guys recording on Vocals on the way in ?

Best to keep GR gentle on the way in(3-5db). You can always add more ITB, but if its crushed going in, it will always be crushed

Today it's "urban funk" day! We're using:

Vocal - SM7b -> API 3124 -> UA 1176LN. Plugins: Slate VMR AirEQ for shelving, Distressor for grip and presence. Equilibrium as needed. Melodyne for tuning.

Bass - MD421 -> API 3124 -> DBX 160XT ("Over Easy"). Plugins: Same as above.

I find I need a little compression on the vocal to keep it even while tracking.I don't think you can do wrong by putting a 1176 on your bass while tracking
