Default Import audio from QuickTime movie with multiple tracks

Hi,
So I imported a quicktime movie into my session that has both the temp music and dialogue split on different stereo tracks, but Pro Tools seems to just put it into one stereo track, so I lose the separation. I also tried this in Logic Pro X, and it automatically gives me the option to separate the audio into two separate stereo tracks. How do I do this in Pro Tools?

hmm .. interesting .. i embed those separate tracks but have never had to separate them .. so i assume it is only seeing the main 1/2 tracks and not the alternates ..

Curious, do you imbed using Pro Tools, or is that a different program?

Well ladies and gentlemen... operator error wins again. I was sent two versions of the quicktime, and one had the split stereo channels and the other didn't. Once I imported the correct one it split the audio out as hoped.

The QT inspector question helped me figure it out.

Thanks!

i use Quicktime itself to embed (make sure all audio is exactly the same length) .. to Copy the 2nd or 3rd, etc audio tracks to your QT, hold control command-V and this will paste the audio without deleting what is there .. then in movie properties you can check or uncheck the tracks you want to play back .. either several versions, or several Stems or stereo and 5.1 .. etc ..

there is more info online, just cannot find it right now ..
