upgrade pro tools 7.4 to windows 7 64 bit
Hello i have windows 7 64 bit and an pro tools 7.4 how can i upgrade it so it can be compatible with windows 7. I already have it installed and can't figure out if i need to uninstall it or can i just download a different version of pro tools to upgrade it. I downloaded pro tools 8.1 and 8.3 and didn't work any suggestions? My error message says i need pro tools 8 but can't figure out where to download it at i have a legit copy of pro tools.

You install Pro Tools 8, THEN do the 8.0.3 update. But to install 8, you will be prompted to UN-install previous versions. But you can't just go 8.0.3. That's an UPDATE. 8.0 is a full install.

Yeah u have to purchase PT8 & then u can use the updates that u downloaded...

There is now a PT 8.0.3 full installer that works in W7. If you have a firewire interface you will need to replace the driver with 8.0.4b.
