Default Autotune Pro Out

Anyone tried this yet? I've been trying it on some stuff I recorded with an SM7 direct into an ID14. It sounds bigger, clearer, more in tune, more even, and more natural than Autotune 8. Pro replaced AT8 once I installed it automatically, so you can't switch between the two. I'm running it in Flextune mode typically between 44-54 with a 20 retune speed. Halfway between choosy and relaxed. It's definitely sounds louder than 8, but I think there's more going on.

Antares support is telling me that the regular mode with Flextune is the same as Autotune 8 and classic is the same as Autotune 5. Pro didn't reset the parameters after it replaced all my Autotune 8s. All I can think of is that the parameters might be labeled the same but actually aren't.

So you got a chance to compare it with previous things you used AT 8 on? I emailed Antares back and am still trying to get to the bottom of this. To see if there's a way to make 8 and Pro sound the same.

Hi ! no , i just base my judgement on my ear memory . I've used a few versions before and all of them sounded like that . The last i was using was the EXF3 cause it was the less flangy to my ears . But this one blows it .

I'm going to see if there's a way to install 8 on its own. I've got Satin tape running on some fx auxes and I know it supposedly generates a unique bounce every time due to some random noise, but the differences seem too drastic to be due to that. But I suppose it's still possible maybe.

Edit:

So I tried to keep 8 and Pro installed, doesn't work. Even making a copy of the 8 plugin folder so Pro doesn't overwrite it doesn't help. Went back to one session and deactivated all instances of Satin and Bx Console N. I don't think anything else would be generating noise that could drastically change from one bounce to another. There is a stark difference between the bounce with 8 and the two bounces I did with Pro. The Pro bounces are just like I was saying above, better in every respect. But the two pro bounces are not identical. You can still tell they share similar characteristics that are very different from the 8 bounce. I will have to deactivate everything but the Pro instances and bounce next.

Edit 2:

This time I deactivated everything except Autotune. Then imported the bounces in Audacity. Inverted one of the Pro bounces. It nulls with the other Pro bounce. It did not null at all with the 8 bounce.

I am a little bit skeptical about the "new" version and the update price policy.

Since AT 7 there was nothing real new in the sound of AT.

I don't think that something has changed from 8 to pro.
they only have implemented the new automatic key mode and the AT 5 sound.

I bougt AT 7 in the past and than AT live because I wanted a low latency alternative. I had to buy both Versions at full price ?!?
than they implemented low latency back again in AT 8.

and now i have to pay 129$ for the update from 8 only for the automatic key detection and the AT5 mode. I believe the rest sounds exact the same as AT 8

Antares sells many times the same thing in new versions.
IMO its much to expensive for the "new" features
i don't like this update policy

I agree that it feels stupid to pay this much for very small updates. At the very least, a "pro" version should run in AAX DSP. That I would pay for. I paid too loose TDM...

There should be a different upgrade price for those who have both AT8 and Live.
