Anybody using OS 10.4.10 successfully?

Yes I know it's unsupported and there is a known problem starting up PT...

BUT Digi says running a 'prebinding script' MIGHT resolve it.

Anyone tried yet?

Not me. I've been locked out of PTLE ever since upgrading to 10.4.10. I've tried everything. I'm going to reinstall this weekend and pray.

If you're up and running happily with something else DO NOT switch to 10.4.10.

I'm not happy with Digidesign about this. The *least* they could do is email everyone who is registered letting them know something is not supported. That would have stopped me from upgrading. Now I know to come to this forum before doing anything in the future.

I've got 10.4.10 and so does my PT professor. I'm running 7.1.1 and have few problems and my prof is running 7.3 and has no problems since doing the combo update, so it seems some folks have minor problems and some have major. Like the other poster said, if you're not having problems then stay with what you have, if you don't have PT and have 10.4.10 it will work, but expect to spend some time on this site getting the bugs figured out. I'm not sure about the prebinding script.

I'm using PT 7.3.1 cs4 on 10.4.10 intel, as well as PPC with no problems.

I used the Combo Update off apple's site to update both machines, and have been working the last week, without any noticeable problems.

Although I recommend staying with Digi tested and Qualified versions, I always make an Image of my System Drive, update, and if I run into any major problems - restore back to the Image.

I highly recommend doing that, even with qualified updates, before updating your system. For the 15 or 20 minutes you'll spend.... Someday it'll save you a big headache, it certainly has bailed me out a few times in the past.

Can you post a link to the combo update for 10.4.10? I've only seen one for 10.4.9 (which is up above in the stickies) and did not use the update for that reason. Thank you - very glad to hear it's working for you as I have the exact same setup (PT 7.3.1 cs4 on 10.4.10 G5 PPC).

Did the 10.4.10 Combo Update here and all is running smooth.

I used the combo update as well for 10.4.10 and it worked. However, I used the Software Update yesterday to install the new firmware upgrade and securty update. And today when I tried to start pro tools, it would not open. I ran the prebinder script and it went right back to normal.

Also - are you all using Quicktime 7.2?
