Are you sure you're mobo doesn't have at least one standard PCI slot?

My point is, every firewire express card I have used that has a TI chip and uses a TI driver has worked well.
I have one Belkin/TI 3port f/w 400 and a Midland/TI 3port f/w 400, both are PCI express.
