I'd suggest being real specific about which plug-ins ought to have first priority for a DSP version.

Since the advent of their bundles they've sold enough plugins to support the R&D and programing cost of the new AAX dsp format. That's not counting that the company already produces DSP softare and hardware (maxx for example) for a multitude of companies. So they are not out of cash to continue and code their full list of plugins in aax format.

Yes. I did so. They won't know where to start.

I told them the one knob is the most important:)

I would like AAX native support first. Problem is Avid wont release 11 unless the plug in market is decent. They are dropping RTAS and TDM so I really hope that there is enough out there for Avid to get rid of those formats. Either way once Pro Tools goes 64 bit I doubt DSP will be the feature that everyone craves. HDX will offer more IO capabilities, HD Native will probably offer thunderbolt solutions and standard will be for third party interfaces. Overall they will all have impact on the industry and be a reasonable option. If DSP fades away they could easily make the cards smaller similar to what native is now, offer it for cheaper but still have the option to say run 3 cards for additional IO. I am looking forward to see where things go either way.

There's a "hat trick," and there's a "one trick pony."
There's no "one hat trick pony."
