Here's what it says in Garagebands manual, hope it helps:

To use a Rewire application with GarageBand:

1. Open the song in GarageBand.

2. Open the ReWire application. Be sure you open the ReWire application after opening the song in GarageBand.

3. Use the GarageBand transport controls to play the song, move the playhead, or record. The ReWire application syncs with the GarageBand transport controls.

4. Set the output level in the ReWire application to control its volume in the GarageBand song.

5. When you export the song to iTunes, the output from the ReWire application is mixed with the GarageBand song.

6. When you are finished, quit the ReWire application before you quit GarageBand.

Cheers,

Stu

Of course the only problem with that is because Garageband is the Master and Pro Tools is the slave, you can't use you Pro Tools Plug-ins on the Garageband material, so for all but the most thought-out tracks, IMHO it's pretty bl**dy useless really.

Of course, there's nothing stopping you exporting the garage band stuff and importing into PT, but then again that uses up precious tracks.

I think both applications are masters only and cannot be slaved. Also turn your caps off--its rude.
