Default M-Powered and Vista

Do I have to upgrade to 7.4 for M-Powered to be compatible with vista?

As far as I'm aware, there's no such thing as PT being compatible with vista although unofficially it does work.

Hi there

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but is it possible to use the same copy of PTMPowered (after it was installed originally on XP) on Vista without having to buy another license? I was thinking about this just in case my XP machine broke down...

Yes, since your license is on the iLok, you can install it on as many computers as you want, but you can only run it on one at a time.

Digidesign's website says:

Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Editions not tested. Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools LE 7.4 compared to the officially qualified Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Has anyone successfully used M-Powered with Vista Home or Home Premium?

I'm using PTMP 7.4cs4 on 32-bit Vista Home Premium SP1 and I haven't had any problems so far.

Hope you know the answer. Just bought a computer with Vista. My mpowered disk (7.1) says it's for XP. I can't install it on Vista. And yet your post says you're using 7.4 with Vista? Huh? Did you buy your Mpowered disk AFTER Vista came out so it says Vista on it?

Weirdly, in their products section.........Digidesign says that mpowered is for XP....doesn't mention Vista?

HELP!!!
thanks in advance

The first (and currently only) version of Pro Tools (MPowered and others) that is compatible with Vista is 7.4.

The 7.1 version that you have will not work with Vista. You will need to purchase the upgrade to 7.4 to be able to use Pro Tools on any computer running Vista.
