Macbook Pro and G4 PowerMac with 10.5.1, PTM-Powered 7.4cs2 and v.1.8.2 running FireWire Solo, ProFire Lightbridge, and 1814. All is well.
Thanks for the info. The system I'm having trouble with is the FW 1814 with OS 10.5.1, on a new Mac Pro tower (dual 2.8GHz Quad-Core processor), so perhaps my incompatibility stems from this combination of OS and computer hardware.

Possibly I just wanted to let you know there was a working configuration out there.

Yup, understood. And I in turn wanted to clarify, for those who might also be troubleshooting this issue, what my system was, since it apparently constitues a non-working config.

cheers,
Leigh

I am also a frustrated customer (have the FW 1814 on a mac 10.5.2). It doesnt matter what system I have, because it it just full of bugs.

and just a word to all of u who claim their interface works fine, perhaps you are not using all the functions included in the FW 1814 to really realize how many bugs there are.

I am now wasting 2 whole days of my life to try installing and reinstalling newer and older versions of the drivers for mac and also reading so many forums.. I understand this is in development, but cant they come up with another beta driver (atleast correcting some of those main bugs that are well known to us all!)

I posted a msg to the customer service, asking when and how and if they could release yet another beta version to correct the bugs that are already known, because bottom line, i cannot produce music anymore with all those bugs and already thinking to sell it and get myself a motu ultra lite...!

I feel ya. Had I known that running two Firewire devices on the same FW buss of an iMac would cause such big problems, I might not have bought a FW800 Glyph drive to run with my M-Audio ProFire 2626. Fortunately I can still use the USB 2.0 connection on the Glyph and the problem has gone away. I bought the Glyph for the speed, and can't really take advantage of it. I didn't know that there was an issue until stumbling upon a knowledge base article deep within M-Audio's support site.

i notified m-audio of this bug quite some time ago.
As of today's date the incident ID is still OPEN.

Hey Edgar...The other thing that I was thinking about....Could this be a problem that's unique to the Pro Tools & ProjectMix setup; what about the other DAWs?? Anybody here who is using the other DAWs with ProjectMix care to comment??

Does anybody have a Mackie Control or Command 8 to test with? Maybe it's a problem with the data sent by Pro Tools.

I don't believe my eyes Edgar........ certain parts of our posts & details of your tech support Logs have been deliberately edited! There was nothing offensive in the postings at all; neither are we trying to rally anyone in on this.....all we're trying to do is to get some form of accountability from M-Audio & probably DigiD on an issue that has been there more than 1&1/2 yrs ago. Well....you know yourselves.....so much for FREE SPEECH & ACCOUNTABILITY. It's enough to get me an excuse to go shopping for new DAW & some generic equipment...
