Default RE: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Information

Thank you Dave Lebolt,

My only question..

I am currently at 10.5.1, and have been putting off with upgrading to 10.5.2 just in fear that it may be less-compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered.

In preparation for the release of compatibility with Leopard OSX... Which version should we expect to be the most compatible?

Thank you,

Daniel

10.5.3. He said some of these things are contingent on Apple; it sounds like they need to fix OS X. I've read on other forums that USB audio in 10.5.2 is jacked across the board.

I run ProTools on two Macs, a MacPro and an iMac. On the MacPro, I use a firewire interface. If you put the number of processors down to FOUR from EIGHT, ProTools runs fine. On my iMac, using a USB interface, it is really a hit and miss affair. It glitches sometimes, and the iMac does better if you set the processors to ONE from TWO. But even then, the iMac is a little flakey. And, the USB audio interface (M-Audio Fast Track Ultra) sometimes disappears, and has cause the iMac to crash twice now. So......there might be some truth to the USB audio being messed up.
