Default M-Powered Academic Kit

I posted this in the XP forum as well. Maybe someone can help me out. I am interested in buying the M-Powered Academic Kit. It says that it does not need an iLok, so does that mean it can only run with the Mobile Pre that comes with the kit, or can it be used with other M-Audio interfaces as well? If it can only be run with the specific Mobile Pre it came with, I can't imagine there would ever be any upgrades available for it, for example, it comes with 7.3 so how would I get to 7.4?

That whole bundle has been discontinued and there hasn't been mention of an Academic 7.4 version. People with that bundle have til the end of March (I believe) to get a free crossgrade to the regular M-Powered 7.4, but you lose the special Academic features (time code ruler); and you have to buy an iLok. Also, I wouldn't expect any driver updates for the MobilePre Academic, so it may never work on Vista or Leopard.

The Pro Tools version included with that bundle won't work with other M-Audio devices, only with the special Academic hardware.

Thanks, that's what I figured. Academic was too good of a deal for it to stick around very long. Is there anyway to get this version registered to an iLok? Probably not. I have a Delta 1010 with PTMP 7.3 right now and I am trying to find a way to use Digitranslator with it. I also edit on an Avid. Is digitranslator still not compatible with M-Powered?

On the M-Audio site, it says I can upgrade to M-Powered 7.4 and receive a free copy of Digitranslator AND BF-3A! Sounds too good to be true. Is it???

That's what I did, but I think there's a limited time to do it. If you're thinking about it at all... DO IT NOW!
