Default Zoom while using the sound cursor

Dear friends,

I am just moving from Protools for Windows to the Mac version.
I now have an iMac, but i'm struggling to be able to figure out some shortcuts.
The biggest problem i'm facing now is the editing workflow.
With my windows system i could move the sound cursor along the recorded track and at the same time use the the zoom keys (r and t) to zoom in the exact spot in real time where the click or some other problem is.
My problem with the Mac is that when i click the left mouse cursor all the keyboard freezes and i can't zoom in unless i take the finger of the click.
That is annoying and is messing out my workflow, because it takes a long time to find the problems in my track.
Is there any way to make this option work on the iMac?
Could be some function that is locked?
How do you guys do to find the clicks?
Thank you very much for any help you can possibly give.
Greetings,

Filipe

You're talking about the Scrubber tool, right?

Zooming happens after you let go of the mouse button, which I think works quite nicely. I recommend that you enable the preference Edit insertion follows scrub/shuttle (Setup (menu) > Preferences > Operation tab, second option in the top left corner).

When you have roughly narrowed down where the click is, the cursor will park where you let go.

I use my ears to find clicks and artifacts. If I can't hear it, it ain't there.

Rigth.
I have that option checked already. And yes, the zoom happens when i let go of the mouse button. But for me that is a limitation. With my previous windows system i could zoom and click at the same time. Makes everything more smooth and easier. Is there any way to turn that option on with the iMac?
I work mainly with voice. And for me that option is very important.

I understand.

Zooming during scrubbing "doesn't work" here in HD10 or HD11, but I don't know if this is an OS limitation. Hopefully someone else can chime in here.

Already answered in your other thread about this.

No need for duplicate posts about the same subject in different subforums. It makes things confusing.
