DigiTECH - Please HELP! - Serious problem with video!
I've just bougth a new PC and instaled protools 9, but i'm having serious problems to make it work properly.
It all started with Quicktime. I simply can't make it run, and i don't know why. I instaled the lateste version and older versions and nothing! I cant import videos to my protools. Everytime i try to do it it crashes. It simply shuts down! itunes is working, but sometimes it blocks completly too. Could it be some kind of conflict with Windows 7 professional 64 bit? Please HELP! I need to work and this way is complicated. < Computer > Model: HP HP Z600 Workstation User: Filipe Machado < Processor > Model: 2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz Speed: 2.53GHz Cores per Re: DigiTECH - Please HELP! - Serious problem with video!
First of all, are you running Pro Tools as administrator?
Did you install quicktime before installing pro tools? (i think you have to) If not, uninstall pro tools and quicktime, then first install quicktime, (latest version) then pro tools. Is the format of the movies/videos you are trying to import compatible with pro tools? Can you open videoprojects from before you upgraded to pro tools 9 with this new machine or do all the videoprojects make your computer crash? What exactly happens when the computer crashes?

Re: DigiTECH - Please HELP! - Serious problem with video!
Thanks for the answer critza...
Yes, i'm running protools as administrator. I have install protools before quicktime, i think... i'll try your sugestion, but tell me something if you know... do i have to do all the registry boring and long work if i unistall and install protools again? The video formats are the one i was using before in my xp machine, simple mov. files. I work with ´voice over´to tranlate videos to portuguese, so i need to import videos to protools to insert the translated narration recordings, but at this moment this is not possible. If i try to import the video protools simply shuts down! And i have to restart my machine to be able to work with it again! WMP is not working properly too. If i use the default 32bit verson i get a message saying..."Windows Media Player stopped working..microsoft is checking for a solution..." and i can't see videos with it. But if i use the 64 bit version (the exe. icon in the C:\Programfiles\WMP i can see all videos). So it seems that something is wrong with video programs in my machine (if they run with 32 bits. Do someone have any idea about what can be the problem? |
