S6L x 2 and PT Virtual Soundcheck...

Since it is AVB. Can we stream signal to 2 S6L consoles from the same Protools Laptop?? One S6L is in monitor world with a laptop connected.. Works very well..
So I took an ethernet cable out of that consoles D AVB port and connected it to the second consoles C AVB port.. Activity lights are on.. I see "Protools" in my devices window, but no Audio to the second console..
Now I did see in protools that the Playback engine did see both S6L but could only access one at a time.. I created an Aggregate device containing both S6L engines but then I got no Audio to Either console...
Can it be done?

That would ne interesting To know.

In the meantime you could try with a switch and the riedel AVB manager

It's a little bit more complicated than just plugging a few in, as the S6L system sees the computer as a playback device also, so you must remember that it's not just 64 channels of recording being duplicated out. The software is built to support one AVB record system.

There are sneaky ways to get the stream to multiple AVB computers, but it's not a supported configuration.

He is talking about playback, not recording. So when he is able to split up the AVB streams from the computer with a switch it is not as sneaky as when trying to record to two computers.
But it stil is not a supported configuration.

There is a lot of reading involved, a AVB switch and the riedel AVB controller.

Oh right, sorry, just re read it. It's about common playback from one computer to multiple S6L system. This is not a currently supported config, as of right now, one playback system per S6L system.


That said, I'm sure there are sneaky and totally unsupported ways to do this haha, just grabbed a switch to give it a try.

Thanks guys... Yes it is for playback only... The monitor guy and foh guy will just have to share or run their own until it is "offically supported." We have just been changing the playback engine in the protools session for whoever wants it.. Thanks Again and here is a pic or 2 of the rig..
