Default 8.0.1 installation "codec overrun"

I downloaded the 1.4 GB PT8.0.1 update (HD3 accel system on Mac Pro quad intel) and upon trying to run the update, I get a message stating update failed and the given reason: "codec overrun".

I have no clue what this means or how to fix this. Any ideas?

Thanks,
beans

Update: the downloaded file was corrupt. Once re-downloaded, it installed fine.

So far, I like the changes.

I can't seem to get past the 'codec overrun' message either, but it's just when I'm mounting the image and it's verifying the contents. If i choose 'skip' the verification process, it takes me to the installer window, so i can begin installation, but the process fails when the 'pro tools will now install new software plugins...' or something like that at the end. 'Installation failed. The source file is corrupt. please contact manufacturer'
funny they say that and then wont talk to you unless they have your credit card number..

Please Help!!!

Have you tried trashing the installer and redownloading it? It sounds like the one you have is corrupt.
