Default Transfuser update to AAX?

Hey there...,

i updated PT recently from 9 to 12.
Everything is working now and all 3th party plugs are updated except Transfuser.

I think i bought transfuser back in the days in the avid store.

in my avid account (My Products and Subscriptions) i still own transfuser 1.3

i installed, but it did not show up in PT. Guess the AAX support is with Transfuser 2.0 only

but i can't update transfuser in the avid store?!?!?!?
and on air music store as well...i can buy the new transfuser 2.0 or updating a whole expansion pack...

i just want to update my transfuser...

what am i doing wrong here?

thanks

Thomas

Sorry – this ain’t good news!

I couldn’t find an upgrade path for your Transfuser 1.3 to Transfuser 2.0.5 onwards

Looks like Transfuser 2.0.5 costs US $149.99
http://www.airmusictech.com/product/...k#.VmlZ3F7M8bY

Whereas the complete AIR Instrument Expansion Pack costs (twice that) US $299.99
http://www.airmusictech.com/product/...k#.VmldQF7M8bZ
• Hybrid 3.0 – High-Definition Analog & Wavetable Synth
• Loom – Modular Additive Synthesizer
• Vacuum Pro – Polyphonic Analog Tube Synthesizer
• Structure – Multi-Timbral Sampler Instrument
• Strike – Ultimate Virtual Drummer Instrument
• Velvet – Vintage Electric Piano Instrument
• Transfuser 2 – Melodic & Rhythmic Groove-Creation Instrument

Long-shot (worth a try):
http://www.airmusictech.com/kb/article/1378#6
If you decide to buy, see if you’re eligible for a Promo Code, to get a discount.
“Visit http://www.airmusictech.com/promocodes and enter an e-mail address associated with previous purchases with AIR. Our automated system will email you with details about the available upgrades associated with the address provided. Please expect a response within 10 minutes. If the e-mail you receive does not indicate that you are eligible for a promotion and you believe you should receive one, please e-mail [email protected] or call us at 888-800-0681.”

You can get a Transfuser 2 Trial Version, (Mac or PC), to see whether it’s worth it to you.
http://www.airmusictech.com/product/...user-2#updates

You could also keep an eye on the DUC “Buy & Sell” for a used version of Transfuser 2.0.2 up to Transfuser 2.0.7
http://duc.avid.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12
Better still – post your own “Buy & Sell” Thread:
WTB: AIR Transfuser version 2.0.2 (+ upwards)

Good luck - hope you get it!

If the Promo Code route fails – I’d suggest emailing, as well.

You can always co-install Pro Tools 10 (this entails uninstalling Pro Tools 12 – installing Pro Tools 10 – then re-installing Pro Tools 12).

Then install Transfuser 1.3 – do your Transfuser work in Pro Tools 10, then import the audio into Pro Tools 12.

Downloads
• Transfuser 1.3 Installer (Win) [2309.99 MB]
• Transfuser 1.3 Installer (Mac) [2367.44 MB]

I also understand that many people still use Pro Tools 10 for the Drag & Drop feature which never made it to Pro Tools 11 & 12 (where you can Drag & Drop MIDI, but not Audio ... double-damn!!)

One other possibility. Might he be able to install the VST version of Transfuser? If so, he could host it as a VST in either Reaper or Blue Cat Patchwork or something similar. Was installing the VST version an option with 1.3? Or he could he download 1.3 in VST from AIR?

I don't think that there was VST option with Transfuser 1.3
because it came from the Digidesign Instrument Expansion Pack (RTAS & AAX32)

Then again, for all my "retro-ramblings" – this is the best way, by a long shot:

the update to what you need wasn't free so you didn't necessarily miss that.

what you must have missed was a discounted upgrade and thus the recommendation to contact and ask for the promo code for the discounted update.

+1

... think it was a $49 update once and even as low as $29 at one time

(I am trying to recall but could be wrong of course)
