Default ProTools 8 Solo Crash

Although I love the new solo track quick key (shift "s" immediately solos the track the cursor is on) I have found that it crashes the session, and computer randomly. Many people at work who have made the transition to PT 8 have also had this happen to them. We are on the Cs2 update. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I reported this over a month ago, and I believe Digi Tech Support posted here to say that this bug has been logged for an upcoming fix. Search the listings.

Best,

That is correct. This issue has been logged, however more information will certainly be useful in developing a fix.

AssertionError, please provide your CPU type and OS version, and if you have any more information regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the crash (how many tracks are in the session, whether you are in Latch, X-OR, or Momentary solo mode, etc), this would all be helpful.

Thanks,

I got this crash every day. Usually more than once.

ALWAYS happened, when I finished an edit then, press play/stop to check it, press Cmd+S to save session then hit Shift+S to solo another track.
This series of keystrokes is autopilot for me and as such, the sequence of key commands happens very quickly.
If I actuate them too fast, PT8 will freeze, beachball then crash.

Slowing myself down a touch to let the App register each seq of commands in turn before starting the next task has all but eliminated the problem.
And I've not slowed all that much.

I am running PT 8, with the Cs2 update on a dual 2.66 Xeon Mac Pro with 3 gigs of ram on OS 10.5.5
I am in X-OR solo mode. I have had sessions crash during playback, as well as from being paused. I have had sessions crash with as few as 3 tracks, but normally my sessions are at least 20 audio tracks wide, with a video track as well.

Yep, happening to me too. I'm in Latch Mode, usually 8 tracks wide. And I'm on CS3... guess they haven't fixed it yet. For what it's worth, it's not happening on my mobile rig running LE.

I'm on 8.0.1 and I have had it crash but it took longer than it used to on 8.0cs3.
