Default Really i nedd help urgently!!!!

Hi everyones, I have two doubts, first of all, i`m thinking of buying a mbox 2, but i don`t know if i had problems with my OS (windows media center edition), have anyone installed PT with this version of windows that could give me some advices? I`d appreciate it. The other doubt i have is about an external hard disk (lacie d2) but i dont know if it will work with PT in my laptop (Dell xps m140) because it only has one port firewire 1394 of 4 pines (i.link/dv). Thank you all

I have window's XP media center edition and it works perfectly with out any problems

and the lacie harddrive will work great. it comes with all the cable's you need, just use the 6pin to 4pin cable it comes with, the extra 2 pins that are missing are only for power, because something device's can get powered from the firewire port but they usually don't have 6 pins on laptop's to conserve the battery life.

I would caution you.
Only a small handful of people report that Media Center and PT run smoothly.
The VAST majority of folks who've tried it have had spotty success at best, and most found it didn't work at all.
It's not supported by Digi for good reason.
They don't just arbitrarily not support something.
It's problematic for 90 plus % of those who've tried it, including Digidesign themselves.
Why not just get a copy of XP Pro and call it a day?
