Yes, I am able to recreate the problem in fresh sessions.

So far, I am only able to create this issue when the moving a copied region which falls within another whole region (i.e. copying beat 4 to beat 2 in a loop) but like Pete said, it is quite unpredictable.

Sometimes the copied region disappears completely, leaving only underlapped whole original region and sometimes it will extend the copied region to match the selection length.

This definitely needs attention and to be submitted as a bug.

I am on PT 11.3 and Yosemite 10.10.1.

It's logged with Avid, fwiw.

Yup... the bug is still there in v11.3 Note: Healing across multiple regions/clips with paste edits will undo parts of the comp such that the first healed region/clip will overlay the audio to the left... but retain the start play point. Pretty much renders editing and comping useless if you execute any cleanup/heal. Serious bug and incomprehensible that has not been fixed to date.

It may be "logged with Avid" but it's still there in 11.3.1 so it's been wrong for about 6-7 months now which for a serious functionality error is pretty poor.

Just adding my voice to the mix. Would love to see this bug fixed soon. I have had to alter my normal workflow, as I too have the habit of doing a global Cmd-H on an AAF to remove "pointless invisible edits", as Pete so accurately describes them.

It's still happening in PT 11.3.1 and Yosemite 10.10.2. It seems Avid doesn't care much about its Post production users..? We have PT12 looming around the corner but our bugs are still not fixed. The workflow you described, Pete, is a pretty standard one.

Only work around is to launch Pro Tools 10 after the AAF import and then delete all unnecessary splices and x-fades and heal the separation there. Then go back to Pro Tools 11.

My other annoying issues are to do with the Video Engine hogging all sort of resources and CPU, even with Avid native formats.

Not to mention the issue with the timeline playhead scrolling, and mouse pointer input: i.e. the Beam sync fracas. You have to disable it with Quartz debug in other to make Pro Tools useable and speedy again.

Also still there for me in PT 11.3.1!

This is a major bug, why hasn't Avid spoken up?

I generally try to give Avid the benefit of the doubt but I can't believe this hasn't been fixed. It's a not a blue sky feature request or an operational annoyance it's actually reliably corrupting the edit list.

Pete
