Default Digital Pops

With the digi 001, I'm using a biege G3 266 mhz -160mb of ram with the a
Atto Express PCI SCSI accelerator card. I transfered the "Be There" demo to my harddrive and tried it out. immediately heard random digital pops. I brought my harddrive to a similar system (biege G3 333Mhz with 320 MB ram) and the same problem occurs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Let me know if you need more info. thanks.
