Default Crazy Nomad Factory Plugins Sale - What's your experience?

Just got an email from DontCrack.com. They've put all the Nomad Factory plugins on deep discount. You can buy basically all of them (51) for $99US. I'm thinking this is a steal.

I have their Magnetic II tape emulator and I dig it a lot.

Looks like they have Motown EQs, an Altec Compressor and a whole lot more.

Do you all have positive experiences with their plugins? Any favorites.

Not sure how long this lasts: http://store.dontcrack.com/index.php...acturers_id=39

I have a few of their plugins. I don't really ever use them.

I like the Magnetics II bundle. There are some things the tape delay emulator (Echoplex and much more) does that nothing else can match. The tape sim gets a workout on synth tracks to take some of the edge off.

I also have the Bus Driver that was a freebie for a long time that tends to see use on my 2-bus from time to time. Got the Analog Trackbox and haven't really used it all that much to be able to comment on it.

Th NF stuff is kind of the Rodney Dangerfield of fx - gets no or little respect.

I use Magnetics 2, Cosmos, the British bundle & the new Drum Tools in my current mix template. Love them all. The BlueTubes FX get their fair use as well.

I also have a few of the others that get used on odd occasions and some that I never use at all. Their newish Bus Driver (which was a freebee at the time) does nothing but crash Pro Tools which kind of made me pass the current sale by. I was tempted with the $99 all in and would have popped for it if that bundle had contained Magma.

Now Plugivery have taken over NF it'll be interesting to see what they do with the brand.

As has been said, NF stuff tends to get a pretty 'meh' response from most people, mostly the ones who have never used them. There are some good plugins in there if you persevere with them.

I'd say the Magnetics bundle (Magnetics 2, Cosmos & Echoes) is probably the best bang for the buck but that's $59 and included in the $99 studio pack anyway. Just be aware that the $99 studio pack doesn't have every NF plugin in it, Magma, Drum Tools and Bus Driver aren't in there.

I have quite a few Nomad Plug-ins. They work, but I forget to use them.

The good: Echoes, Cosmos, Magnetic bundle. Motown EQ, Film tone EQ, E-Retrovox. Magma is good too, but I don't think it's included in the "ISP" bundle so you may have to buy it separately.

Some of the "retro" stuff is pretty good (not great, but good) like their Fairchild and Pultec stuff, the multiband limiter, the altec EQ, and a few of others I can't think of right now.

$99 is good for the standout stuff, but honestly that many plug-ins might just clog up your insert menus.

Yeah, they work just fine, and for $99, why not? I too tend to forget them in favor of my UA plugins, but there are indeed instances where I'm glad to have another choice.

I have the British Bundle but like Tom said I forget to use it.

But the Comp in that set is great on a drum buss.
