Opinions on Komplete Audio 6

My Komplete Audio 6 just showed up at the mail and here's a quick piece of advice for those who might be as well interested in this interface: direct monitoring doesn't work for inputs channels 3/4, 5/6, it only works with inputs 1/2.

I just ordered one of these as well. Looks like a nice unit that is very portable since its bus powered. I really got it for my Surface, but I'll test it on my main music PC as well. I know some people hate it, but I like the large volume knob and the top down design.

I've been using one for about two years and have no complaints. As you mentioned above, the big volume knob is nice to have.

I do wonder if it contributes to the following (though I have no way to check):

- latency when recording one client via analog in and her guest via Skype
- getting -6101 errors. Though I believe I tracked this down to a network (and maybe Bluetooth) issue, I do wonder if the K6 is able to keep up all the time.

While this unit comes with Windows software that allows you to access the buffer settings, no such luck with the Mac. All you can do is use Audio MIDI Setup.

All said, I'm very happy with it as it does what I need it to do, it's compact and easy to use, and it came with Komplete Elements which was very helpful when I was first getting up and running two years ago. For the money, you get a really good number of ins and outs, IMHO.

One thing I dislike is how Pro Tools handles the buffer setting with the Komplete Audio 6. You have to close Pro Tools every time you change it and re-open. This doesn't happen with Bitwig or Reason. I'll have a huge long review video on it tomorrow I think.

Just finished watching, that was a pretty good unboxing video Benoni! I used it to better explain the issue with H/W buffer size to the NI tech support. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to hear your first impressions on the interface!

Cool man, thanks. It's a nice interface for sure. I do wish it would work the way other interfaces do with PT when switching the buffer. Have they said if this is a PT problem or is it a problem with how they wrote the ASIO driver?

As you see in the video, it works how it is supposed to with Reason and Bitwig. I don't mind having to use their Control Panel to switch the buffer, but we shouldn't have to shut down PT and re-open. Great interface nonetheless.
