I have imaged using HyperOS (as mentioned above) and with Acronis trueimage , and Im in this mode?
I have tried a restore , and it worked no problem !

So I think I will leave it set to Raid+AHCi if that is the best performance wise.

Hi Foggy Bill,
Excellent! I hadn't even bothered trying to image in the Raid+Anarchic Hamster Culling Iguana mode
so if it works...great. Got my info from an Avid DS page which also use xw8400s. I thought the mode would not allow to boot from CD, hence Acronis imaging. Will try again when I've completed stuffing myself will Xmas gobbles.
Bios version would be nice though...xw8400s ain't exactly cheap...

Cheers,

Sunny Buckoboomer

I must say Im surprised that DIGI have not answered this thread about the BIOS version .!
I thought the whole point of a qualified system was that it was SUPPORTED , and we were not digging out info alone :_)

I'd really like to hear from Digi a word about compatibility with latest bios version ( it is 2.31 now)

Thanks

xw8400 and xw8200 are now qualified for PT8HD. I wonder what the bios versions are?

Hi guys,

i'm having trouble with bios rev 02.38. The system runs absolutely fine until i minimise pro tools to desktop. the machine then grinds to a halt and motherboard bleeps. Then i have to manually reset the motherboard (power button 5secs).

i think the core/accel cards are not happy when 'released' in windows.

In order to verify that it is a bios problem i need older bios drivers.

has anyone got v1.19 so i can conform with avid's requests?
Thanks in advance

This is interesting! I have been using xw8400 for years and upgraded to the latest bios when I installed Leopard on the machine 3 years ago and then again in November of 2010 to install Snow Leopard.

I have issues every once in a while with a fatal or non fatal erro on pci slot blah blah blah, I wonder if this has been the problem all along?

Anyway, so use to it but it is something to look into.
