"digital scrub" via keyboard?

Hi, all!

I'm a long-time Avid user -- just taking the jump into ProTools (LE v6.7; Mbox factory), running on a Powerbook G4 1.5. Very pleased with PT's mixing capabilities, esp. with the bundled plug-ins. Just starting to get comfortable with editing in ProTools.

Question:
Is there a way to do "digital" scrub via the keyboard (i.e., the equivalent of the Avid's step forward/backward with the Caps Lock key down)? This allows for jogging by discrete increments (+/- 1 or 10 frames on the Avid), while hearing the audio at normal pitch as you jog.

Basically, I'm looking for a sometime alternative to scrubbing with the mouse. (And yes, I'm aware that the numeric keypad's Shuttle Mode, which would be helpful here, is only in the TDM version.)

Interesting. Some of those devices have mappable buttons, but I don't think you can map anything to the device that can't already be mapped to the keyboard. But thanks for the heads up!

Any other ideas on "digital scrub" via keyboard ...?
