I got paid, so I had my finger on the "buy" button for Vocalign Project. Then I remembered that Melodyne Editor doesn't have the ability to copy pitch information from one performance and impose it on another. So I bought Revoice Pro.

The workflow is not unlike RX4 and Melodyne, there's a bridge that sends audio from the timeline to the standalone app. Feels a lot more stable than the Melodyne bridge (which in turn feels much more stable than the Melodyne audiosuite). About 10 minutes of tutorials by our pal Mike Thornton, and I had enough info to get working.

So I'm pretty enthused about it.

Revoice Pro 3 & Vocalign Project are sale is on for a few more days, until December 14th. Audiodeluxe has a great deal for Revoice Pro at $349.

This thing is one of the most useful plugins I've used.

Me likey.

damn you guys!! Thought I might be able to resist, but $349 is the lowest I've ever seen it and pulled the trigger.

Now I just need to find the time to learn it!!

Use the AS plugin much like you used vocalign, and you need to learn nothing to get stellar results with vocal dubs

Cool, hadn't thought about that. So it's got an Audiosuite plug AND the stand alone version?

Audio suite contains 3 variations of a link to the standalone.

1 of them (called link) will transfer the audio to the program and do nothing. All based on what you want to do. Select the clip in PT and select the track you want it to go to in RP.

Another link is just like vocalign. Select source and dub. Will auto process in RP. Can creat the default settings in RP or tweak it a bit and reprocess it. This is FAST.

Then a link to create an auto doubled function. Again can set your default in RP like above and then technically you don't even have to look at or deal with it, just process then spot.

I'll agree and emphasize that it is FAST. Especially the doubler. Open audiosuite, click capture, hotkey (semicolon to move the selection to an adjacent audio track before spotting), click spot and you're done. One thing to mention, the formant shifting does NOT sound good at all, compared to that of Melodyne. It's acceptable at low values, but it does have the distinct chirpy "robots underwater" sound to it.

Between Revoice and the pitch editor in Nectar 2, I'm pretty close to ditching melodyne. I only hold on to melodyne because the timing tools and secondary pitch tools (modulation and drift) are excellent. I hate having three tools that are so expensive and have such overlap, but each does one thing that the others can't.
