No, the offset is for the entire video chain. So if you hook up your tv to the RX580, but the tv itself takes 2 frames processing time you'd have to set it to 8qrt.
If you have some audio processing going on with processing delay, like room correction soft/hardware, then you can subtract it from the video delay.

Best way to measure is using the old SynCheck devices (not sold anymore?) or using similar software app solutions on an Apple device (as their camera/mic synergy is much better documented and the resulting outcome is more reliable)

The sync-one2 box has replaced Richard Fairbank's SynCheck devices.

Nice unit, well worth buying rather than trying to guess an offset and also it can measure the "span" or range of error in any video replay setup.

Thanks, but WHOA $500 for something that will be used once every... Monitor upgrade which is every 5-7+ years?

I was previously using a SynCheck2, but recently switched to the Catchin' Sync app (using it on my iPhone). I've been pleasantly surprised at how easy to use and accurate it is.
