Default Lost input device.

Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

We have a ProTools V12.6 native system connected to a Soundcraft VI1 via Dante in a small TV studio. We have not had the need to record to PT for a while and now we are not seeing any of the Dante connections in PT. In fact we are not seeing any input device when I try to select Playback Engine. The OS is Win10Pro 64bit. I do believe that Windows has done some automatic updates. recently. DVS is running and is able to send to other software.

Thanks

Default Re: Lost input device.

With most Windows systems, you need to set the Windows Default Playback Device to something OTHER than your PT interface. Sometimes that can get reset by a Windows update or a driver update(for most any piece of hardware). Start there to make sure Windows isn't hogging the Soundcraft.

Another thing that might get reset by a Windows update is the USB Power Management feature that should be disabled on all USB ports(aka "Root Hub" in Device Manager). Let us know if this doesn't help

Default Re: Lost input device.

In case any one is interested it turns out that if you have PPMulater running it grabs all the Dante streams and PT can't see the Dante virtual sound card at all.
