Please, specify your sources. I haven't seen anything on the Apple site yet.

So does that mean HD cards won't work in PCI-X slots?

Looking at the Apple store, only the 1.6 ghz SP machine comes with PCI slots. The two faster models have PCI-X slots, and there does not appear to be an option in the customize menu to change these to PCI.

The technical overview document has some good info.

When you see how much space the G5s + cooling take up you can see why they had to nix one of the slots.

The case looks like it is a vast improvement over the current design. The odd looking front allows cooling across four zones within the computer. The old case never properly drew air through it. Cooler aluminum vs. plastic. You can also get into it without having to pull down the motherboard and all the connecting cables.

S/PDIF appears to be able to be clocked externally.

Busch.

alos 8.1 inch widht, that's 5 units.

let's hope that the G5 xServe will do the job.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">HD cards are 3.3V, so they should work, and PCI-X slots are backward compatible with PCI. I'm not sure if it's via a dual connector system, but shouldn't be a worry.
