OMF version 1.x. Pro tools only supports OMF version 2.x

I got an OMF from another studio, when I try to import it I get
"Could not complete your request because file is OMF version 1.x. Pro Tools only supports OMF version 2.x for session import.."

Anyone know how I can import it, into PTLE 7.4? I have Digitranslator 2.0 and I import OMF's all the time.

you need OMF tool on OS9

Ask them to send you an OMF 2! They'll figure out a way.

OMF 1 was very unreliable, so it's better to avoid it.

Digi had a free utility called OMF Tool that converted OMF 1's - it still may be somewhere on their website. But it is OS9 only. And Digitranslator, the older standalone app probably can read it, but it's OS 9 (or Classic).

If you have access to or know anyone with AV Transfer, that can open OMF 1.0, and then re-export it as an OMF 2.0. But as already stated, OMF 1.0 was unreliable, so get them to export 2.0 if you can.

Believe it or not, Digitranslator 1.0, the standalone, does not support OMF 1 either.
