Why would one track not mute when another is in Solo

I'm working on a project right now and when I went to Solo a track, all of the other tracks in my session muted, except for one. The track that didn't mute has the Solo button greyed out...although I can still Solo that track. I'm guessing I accidentally hit a button on the keyboard that caused this, but I don't know which one. Thanks in advance for any help.

That track has been solo-safed. Command-click on that track's solo button and it will return to normal operation.

That's brilliant! How'd I miss that that feature?

Just what I need for my sub-groups to be permanently solo-safed, instead of having to solo both the track and the sub-group it's feeding when I want to hear just that track. Perfect!
