With the price of Sharpies these days, I imagine the cost of one of these wouldn't eclipse a year supply of Sharpies...unless you are Terrell Owens!

Nice, I can't wait.

This is an interesting idea, but after reading the site, there's one thing that was repeated that isn't the way I've ever heard to print a CD. It's my understanding that you're suppose to print the label first and then burn the data because with printing the label you run the risk of ruining data so it's better to print the label first.

As a person who has an injet CD printer, I question whether media really will be alittle more expensive than regular media. Not being able to do colour is a draw back because you know the average joe is gonna want to do colour.

Is there any other information available about this system? That is, is the background colour availabale in other colours other than beige and what is the current cost of media? What is the cost of a printer/burner?

Not sure. I will have to re-read the "how it works" section again. I did note that it is being developed by HP, so I am sure that color and more variety will be available soon.

My main interest in this is not so much the idea of being able to print lots of cds out for say an indie lable situation (which I would like of course), but just being able to make a more tidy product to hand to my client when they are done in my studio...

LOL, yeah, I'm thinkin' of checkin' the grey matter for errors, reformatting and trying to install an old OS myself, I'd be happy with 3.1!!

Sorry Sil, I thought YOU invented this thing?! Either way, thanks for bringing it to our attention. If it works, I'll be havin' a sharpy bonfire!

You only get one shot at a first impression and sharpies do NOT cut it.

Ter

Bah... you have to use THEIR software to make the labels..

I'll stick with photoshop and pagemaker and make my own, thank you!

I'm fairly happy using Printable CDR's and my Epson 900.
